Synthesis and NonLinear Optical Characterization of Metal Doped Manganese Ferrites for Device Applications

| dc.description.abstract | Nanostructured metal ion doped Mn1-xMxFe2O4 (0 _ x _ 0:25) (M = Cu2+, Zn2+, newlineNi2+ and Cd2+) spinels were prepared by the chemical co-precipitation method using newlinemetal chlorides as raw materials. The spinel ferrites thus prepared were evaluated for phase purity by powder x-ray diffraction (XRD), crystalline nature through selected area electron diffraction (SAED) in high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), morphology by high resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM), elemental analysis by energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) studies, optical bandgap by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), vibrational frequencies by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, defect states by photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and optical nonlinearity by Z-scan technique usingCWlaser. Optical limiting effect was studied using CW laser at 532 nm on pure and doped manganese ferrites.
