Renewable energy is characterised as energy provided by natural newlineresources such as wind, solar, tides, wave and thermal heat that are refuelled newlinenaturally in a short period. renewable energy includes technological newlinedevelopments that transform natural resources into useful electric power. newlineaccording to the recent survey provided by the ministry of new and renewable newlineenergy-government of india, the installed capacity of renewable energy stands newlineat 87.26 gw, of which solar and wind are 34.81 gw and 37.74 gw respectively. newlineas per the survey, electricity outcome from solar and wind energy conversion newlinesystems have witnessed phenomenal growth in the electricity grids and newlineelectricity markets because of its reliability, favourable government policies and newlinesustainable research. further, with the help of development pursued by newlinecompanies and researchers in energy conversion devices like power converters, newlinegenerators, controllers etc. there has been a great development in electricity grid newlineand markets. such renewable energy sources (res) advancements have also newlinepartly stimulated economic growth and employment in manufacturing, newlineinstallation, and so on. this thesis investigates important aspects of solar and newlinewind energy conversion systems .photo voltaic (pv) power generation is a technology which directly converts free solar energy into electrical energy without causing any newlineenvironmental problems. the operation of pv generation is based on newlinephotovoltaic effect, which is a process of generating electric power in a solar cell newlinewhen it is exposed to sunlight. the output of solar cell is mainly based on its newlineintrinsic properties and certain field factors like solar irradiation and ambient newlinetemperature. for extracting the maximum output power from solar cell and newlinepersistent operation it is necessary to study its operational and behaviour newlinecharacteristics. in this thesis, different pv cell modelling types are discussed newlineand a comparative analysis has been performed between single diode and double newlinediode pv model using luminous solar poly panel 40-watt pv
